== Prognosis == The early stages of AD are difficult to diagnose. A definitive diagnosis is usually made once cognitive impairment compromises daily living activities, although the person may still be living independently. Other coincident diseases such as heart problems, diabetes, or history of alcohol abuse are also related with shortened survival. In 2015, Duterte made homophobic remarks about United States ambassador Philipp Goldberg after Secretary of State John Kerry visited the Philippines. Duterte's record on human rights and his long history of comments that have widely been considered to be offensive, provocative, threatening, and undiplomatic have received sharp international criticism. He has been portrayed by his critics in the media as having a "dirty mouth".
